Hurricane Katrina Relief Carnival
Our
staff and students wanted to raise money for the victims
of Hurricane Katrina.
We organized a carnival and invited the community.
All proceeds went to two schools that were receiving
students relocated due to the damage caused by the
hurricane. We
raised just over $800 for school supplies and had
a blast in the process.

Our
First Graders enjoyed trying to pop each other’s balloon. Several had the opportunity to
get their faces painted.
You can hardly recognize them!

They
were then off to the Fishing Pond.
Several were lucky enough to win a prize. It was a close contest when it
came to the pie eating contest.
As you can see, they were really into it.

Our 2nd
graders were equally as excited to play the games. They even waited patiently for
their turn to Limbo!

You
can see who the winner was for the 2nd
grade. Who would imagine that the littlest
would be the first finished?
Great job on the face painting!

It
was great having our parents join us for this event. The 2nd graders were
taking a snack break before heading off to play more
games.

Our
3rd graders are enjoying the events. A student gets
a little help with the pie eating contests.

Did
she get more on her face or in her tummy? Not sure.
Students wait for the number to be called to see who
will win the cake.

The
5th and 6th graders are having fun trying to pop each
other's balloons. Then they anxiously wait to see
what number will be called for the Cake Walk.

We
could not have done this event without the wonderful
support of Charlie Company. They ran all the games
and served the food. This freed up the parents and
teachers to enjoy the day with their students. You
guys are great! A big thank you to the Chaplain
for being our speaker.
